Take some advise on us. A few tips to help protect your small business network.
- Use secure encryption methods on your wireless access points. WPA2 is by far the most secure option for wireless access points.
- Don't use default SSID's or SSID's that give away the identity of your business. Use something obscure like "wireless".
- Make sure all computers allowed access on your network are using Antivirus software that is quality and up-to-date.
- If your wireless router has a web interface for the administration, be sure to limit access to only from within the network.
- Use whole disk encryption on any computers that may "leave home". Be sure whether the laptops at the office or at home, your clients data is protected from theft.
- Start doing regular OFF-SITE backups NOW and avoid tradgedy later and losing all of your client and business data.
